Installation of PACS in an existing hospital involves many technical and political problems. Therefore a multi-phase installation strategy is necessary for a successful installation and operation of PACS in an existing hospital. We have described

experience of in-house PACS development during last 10 year in Seoul National University Hospital, and presented a step by step PACSA installation strategy based on the our experience. At the early stage, we started with a low cost PCs and video
film
digitizer and focused our efforts on the orientation of the hospital staffs to the new concept of PACS. After the adaptation period, as users began to request the improvement of image quality and system speed, we wpgraded and expanded our
prototype
